You won’t believe what these gadgets can do for you around your home

Gadgets

Is it a retro clock radio? No, it’s an ultra-smart sensor that monitors elements in the air that will have an impact on your health and well-being—from dust and toxic chemicals to temperature, humidity and carbon dioxide. It’s just one of the latest gadgets designed to make life so much simpler and safer.

Gadgets

This gadget may look like an ordinary kitchen tidy but don’t be fooled. This is Bruno, the world’s smartest rubbish bin. It’s so smart you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of it first – and how you lived without it all those years. Let me show you what we mean.

Gadgets
First of all, this gadget sucks. No, we mean really sucks. There’s an integrated vacuum inlet in the base that gets rid of pet hair, dust and food crumbs at the sweep of a broom, dumping them directly into the rubbish bag.

No more dustpans or bending over!

Gadgets

Got your hands full? Just wave them over the top of Bruno and, hey presto, the lid pops open.

Just the thing for busy people and germophobes.

Gadgets

Kitchen tidies can really pong, especially on hot days.

Bruno takes care of that with a smart filter that lets your accumulated rubbish breathe without letting odour escape.

Access to the filter and the charging unit is simple – just pop up the secondary lid on the top of the bin.

Gadghets
This is another really genius part of Bruno’s design.

If you’re like me, you’ll never be able to find where your wife (or husband) put the replacement rubbish bags.

Bruno takes care of that by keeping them right where they should have been all the time – in the unit itself.

It’s so obvious I can’t believe no one thought of it before!

Gadgets

Don’t have a fireplace but love the ambience of naked flames? This teeny-weeny Tabletop Fireplace is perfect for the tiniest flat or outdoor area. You can put it on any table or other surface. It is fueled by recycled liquid ethanol so it gives off only water vapor and carbon dioxide – and heat, of course, enough to warm a 30 square metre room.

Gadgets

This could become the ultimate in kitchen gadgets. It’s the Foodini and it can literally print food. Foodini takes fresh ingredients and spits them out – oops, not really an appropriate word – as hearty meals just when you need them. Here are some examples:

Gadgets

The Foodini is not quite a reality yet – but I look forward to the day when we can get any kind of food we feel like at the punch of a button.

Just in case Fido is feeling left out or feels this is a for-humans-only list, may I present the Petzi Treat Cam, the first product from the Petzila range of smart pet devices — a unit that connects to the automated home to allow pet parents to (‘see’) video, (‘speak’) audio, (‘snap’) take pictures and (‘treat’) dispense treats to their pets remotely using any internet enabled smart device.

Gadgets

Don’t you hate it when you spend $3000 on the latest coffee machine and coffee snobs come round saying “Oh, I only drink plunger coffee, daaarling”? The Evolve 3.0 offers Stovetop, Plunger and Pour-Over brewing methods in one elegant solution. And it looks pretty stylish, too.

Gadgets

10 points for guessing what this is. A chopping block? No. A door stop? No. Well, saints preserve us, it’s the latest in 3D clocks for the kitchen. Although, I guess you could use it as a chopping block if you’re careful not to bend the big hand. Or a door stop.

Yup, you’ve guessed it, it’s a robot vacuum cleaner. Er, actually it’s something completely different. UVe is described in the manufacturer’s blurb as “a self-driving, housekeeping companion that uses UV light to disinfect surfaces while you’re away, taking the work off your hands and leaving harsh chemicals out of the equation entirely.” The UVe replaces chemicals – cleaning with the Power of Light. But you knew that, right?

Don’t you love the colour of these bottles? Just what any self-respecting burglar would think on breaking into your home. Completely overlooking the nondescript white device in the foreground. Just as intended. That device is the Blink, described by its inventors as “the first ultra-affordable, totally wire-free smart HD home monitoring and alert system.” You don’t need wires. You just place these around your home and bam – the innovative HD video technology, motion and temperature sensors help you protect your home courtesy of the Blink app for your iOS or Android device.
