Whole-of-life housing
You can get Whole-of-life insurance on your life, so why can’t we provide whole-of-life on our homes as well.
To find out more you can visit Lifemark or call us on 0800 226 349 for a free initial consultation.
We’re not talking about insurance, but about the home having the ability to provide comfort into the future, no matter the age or mobility of who lives in the house.
The floors should be at ground level or have ramp access provided for ease of access whether pushing a pram or confined to a wheel chair.
All ground floor doors should be wide enough to give easy access to those reliant on mobility assistance.
A ground floor wet area bathroom allows for use by people of all ages and levels of mobility. Think also of the placement of the light switches and power sockets - these should ideally be 600 to 800mm above floor level and approximately one metre away from corners.
